Students from high schools, private schools, and home schools who are graduating seniors and are in need of financial assistance to attend a two or four-year college or university are encouraged to apply. The FCHRC is offering an award amount of $1,000 to eligible students.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

- Reside in Cumberland County for at least one year prior to applying.

- Be a senior in a high school located in Cumberland County.

- Maintain a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.50 or better.

- Be admitted as a full-time student in an accredited course of study at a two or four-year college or university.

Interested seniors can find further information at FayettevilleNC.gov/HumanRelations or by calling (910) 433-1696. The Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Department is located at Festival Park Plaza, 225 Ray Ave., Suite 100.

The FCHRC's mission is to promote equal opportunity and positive community relations in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. They strive to protect human and civil rights through the City's Human Relations Ordinance and by working collaboratively with residents, elected and appointed leaders, and individuals in the public, private, non-profit, and higher education sectors.

As stated by the FCHRC, "We are excited to offer this scholarship opportunity to local high school students in Cumberland County. We believe that providing financial assistance can help students pursue higher education and achieve their goals," said a spokesperson for the FCHRC.

This scholarship opportunity presents a valuable chance for students in Cumberland County to alleviate some of the financial burden associated with higher education. By supporting the FCHRC's mission, students can contribute to creating a more equitable and inclusive community.
